Steven, known professionally as Stevey G, is the co-founder of Sculpted Studios and a pioneer of the scalp micropigmentation industry. Over 13 years in SMP, he has shaped both the technique and the tools the industry now uses.
Three industry firsts
- Creator of the first dedicated, production SMP machine. Before this work, SMP was performed with adapted tattoo machines that were never engineered for the precision SMP requires. Steven built the alternative.
- Developer of the first SMP-specific pigment line. Iron oxide and organic pigments engineered for placement in the papillary layer of the dermis, which is where SMP is supposed to live. Lesser pigments migrate to the deeper reticulated layer over time and discolor. Steven's pigments stay where they are placed.
- Originator of the Color Theory for SMP training framework. Now taught globally and the foundation of how skilled SMP artists match pigment to skin tone, undertone, and existing hair color.
